ON A PERSONAL NOTE
Thank you, LADY GAGA, for helping to curate the line-up of world-class singers for the “One World: Together at Home” concert. The star-studded event, as expected, and the usual collective thrust of support of music influencers from the 1960’s to the present, was stunning. But the importance of such grass root efforts of such concerts like The Concert For Bangladesh (1971), Farm Aid, Tibetan Freedom Concert (1996), The Concert for New York (2001), LIVE AID (1985), The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert for Aids Awareness (1992) - all of these concerts give the world a collective hug. If we are unable to benefit from actual human touch, the experience of being virtually “touched” by music can exponentially alter your mood. I have been listening to The Boswell Sisters, Aretha Franklin, Doris Day, Irving Berlin, David Glass, current POP music, piano solos, guitar solos and more. Each time I allow myself the opportunity to receive the gift of music, I am transported, I lose track of time, my heart opens and I can settle into another day of isolation with a level of hope, faith and positivity. Thank you, Lady Gaga for your hard work and being of service to the world during this time grave time in the history of our world.
